Our Programs
The Qi Gong and Tai Chi Fundamentals program teaches a simple series of slow-motion movements that are the building blocks of focus, balance and strength. This program has a minimum attendance of two days per week. Most students take between two to four months to complete this program. At that time you may begin learning the Yang Style 108 Tai Chi Form.
The Tai Chi Basic program offers training in the Yang Style Long Form. This program has a minimum attendance of two days per week. Typically students complete the first half of this form (Sections 1-3) in 12 months. Your Shih Fu will offer new moves each week for a smooth learning progression. Set goals for lifelong health and achieve them with regular participation and practice.
The Blossoming Lotus program is an accelerated track for students who are interested in taking their practice to the next level. This program has a minimum attendance of two days per week with an optional third day. The focus is on deep refinement of the Long Form and applications of each posture. Once students master the Long Form, there is a world of Tai Chi, Xing Yi and Ba Gua forms available to learn. Your Shih Fu will set the pace and the program.
The Lotus program is available to upper-level students by invitation only. In addition to a minimum attendance at two classes per week, Lotus scholars meet weekly to enjoy guest speakers on lifelong health practices, discuss ancient and modern Taoist texts and participate in advanced training on the studio floor. There is no additional charge for most training seminars. Students meet with Shih Fu Eileen quarterly to refine their personal, professional and martial goals.
There is no limit to what motivated and dedicated students can achieve at Body Balance Academy. With the Unlimited program, students attend as many Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes as desired each week. Private lessons can be scheduled during the week for one-on-one training with Shih Fu Eileen Hancock.
